The Forgotten Hill Games: Where to Start and What Order to Play Them In
Published · 1 min read
What the series is
Forgotten Hill is a set of point-and-click horror puzzle games from FM Studio, drawn in a grim ink style, set in a town where nothing is quite right. They are quiet games: no jump scares, just rooms, locks, notes and the growing feeling that you should not be there.
Start with Fall
Forgotten Hill: Fall is the shortest and the introduction. A car breaks down, a house is nearby, the door is not locked. It teaches the series' logic — every puzzle's answer is somewhere in the same house — in twenty minutes.
Then Puppeteer
Longer and stranger, set in a theatre. The puzzles chain across several rooms, and the notes you find are the walkthrough if you read them carefully.
Surgery
The most unpleasant of the four, in a hospital with a doctor who has ideas. Some puzzles are timed; the rest are about matching what a note says to what a machine does.
Disillusion: The Library
Part of the later Disillusion series and the most polished. A library where the books are doors. Play it last; it assumes you know how Forgotten Hill thinks.
How to play them
Click everything. Read every note twice. If you are stuck, the answer is in a room you have already been to, not a room you have not found.
