Amanda the Adventurer: The Questions, the Answers and What Each One Changes
Published · 1 min read
Two kinds of answer
Every question Amanda asks has the answer the show expects — the number of apples, the colour of the sky — and, on many tapes, an answer that is simply true. The expected answer continues the episode. The true answer makes Amanda pause, and the tape changes. Try the true one when it occurs to you; the game rewards it more than it punishes it.
The first tape
Counting and shapes. Answer straightforwardly and watch how Wooly reacts to being asked to do something he does not want to do. It sets up everything the later tapes do.
The kitchen tape
Amanda bakes a pie and asks for ingredients. The recipe on the tape is not the recipe you will need later; write it down anyway, because the game asks about it again when there is no tape to check.
The butcher's tape
This is where the show stops pretending. When Amanda asks where to find something, the honest answer is the one that gets you the item you need in the attic.
The attic between tapes
After each episode, search the attic before you load the next one. Something new has appeared — a label, a key, a note with a number — and the next tape will not play until you have it.
Endings
The last tape plays differently depending on what you found and what you typed. Play through once naturally, then a second time answering only truthfully, and compare.
